i gotta figure out this stalling issue, it logs p0101 that is mass air flow performance, all i have done is glorified the PCV system witha canister, it all routes the same, and uses the factory valve, and blocked off the egr entirly and eliminated its mounting, leaving it dangling in the engine bay for now plugged into the harness, if i clear the code and start it it will run for 10-40 seconds and shut down, with a neer impossible start unless i hold the throttle wide open. its sure quiet and sounds healthy though
And guys tell me, did i reach my goal of sounding like the fiero????!!!!

btw, the p0101 can be set by low/no vacuum signal to the MAP sensor. I think the PCM uses the MAP and maybe the TPS signal to estimate what the MAF signal should be. But your TPS is off last I remember and/or the MAP sensor may not have a proper vacuum signal. But since the car idles fine, I think the MAP is getting a vac signal. So the TPS error might be the reason your getting p0101.
Then the car will switch to a default MAF table and use the TPS signal to calculate fueling. So the engine is flooded once it switches to the default MAF table. hence why it wont start until you hold the pedal down (flooded mode)........this is my guess.
btw, I read that the TPS sensor is a vital sensor in fueling calculations.Last edited by TGP37; 01-29-2012, 11:46 AM.1996 Grand Prix | 3100v6 L82 | T04E-50 Turbo | Getrag 282 w/ EP LSD | SPEC-3 Clutch

Thanks for the info TGP37, i ended up re-indexing my TPS to 0% at close, i'm going to go over all my vaccum lines and hopfully figure this out, things are modified alot on here so i could have easly routed something wrong, i'll post some pics soon of how everything is layed out. i got the exhaust leak fixed lastnight too so a better video is to come! i tried to give the motor some "load" with my foot planted on the brakes, and even with the dual piston corvette calipers i cant hold the wheels still, this is going to be fun! i will know how Robert feels when he got his car running soon lol
I cant find anything wrong with my vaccum lines, if there not plugged, there run properly, only thing that i could do is run my EVAP from my TB to the intake, but that doesnt take into effect till WOT anyways does it? I gotta wait about another hour till i can fire this thing up again with the scanner, i dont want to piss off any neigbours just yet
update: i unplugged the EVAP sol and the issue disappeared so i guess i'll have to re-route the vaccum line to the intake, i cant remember where it goes from factory. Now she's really running lean though so i gues si'm safe to switch back to the larger injectors, with no engine load and a 3500 rev my A/F spiked to 15.7:1. Boy does it sound good though, not a single tick or tap from the motorLast edited by bob442; 01-30-2012, 12:54 PM.

It isn't to unusual to hit 15.7 AFR while rev'ing. As you barely have any time to hit PE Mode at all. And the Decel Enleanment (not DFCO) will lean out the AFR when the throttle snaps back. The REAL test is wot in drive.....he he, hair on fire with Pantera on the radio.

Fellow 'pegger. I recognize you from Heights. Very nice sound. Cool build, Makes me miss the 'bird. I still have a few 60v6 parts kicking around in the garage that I need to get rid of.
Ben shot me the link after he posted your vid on facebook and I saw the MB plate.Colin

Update: i got my base tuen done today, with minor squirles running around in my engine bay, 2 were vaccum leaks on the TB due to not having both screws in my lx5 TB for the IAC and TPS, durrr... next is i have a perfectly ported garbage upper intake, one huge crack and one small crack, i wiped silicon on them for the run up today, i dont think these should be welded up anyways. i'm going to tell everyone to never reuse the upper intake gaskets, as this happend to me from the corner edge of the gasket pinching out, or un-noticably tearing off. i feel i should be shot for doing this but oh well.
The car runs good with the 28# injectors, idle is a bit high, sits around 900, 800 in gear, so this might be due to the upper intake cracks... who knows, i had a small stalling issue that was from me not tightening the atlernator power wire, and first gear is usless till about 60/kph. i also may have some valve train noise, or an exhaust leak STILL. It got to cold today for me to want to do much more. Now i have to focus on getting another intake ported, cleaned up, shaving the EGR, tapping holes, sand blasting and painting it, thats really kicking my ass right now. Then i gotta get some side jobs to afford the dyno time, my tuner said he typically needs 2-3 hours dyno time to get everything dialed in, all at 200$/hr, plus insuring this thing at 200$ a month. Oh yeah, this thing sounds like a rapped witch when you walk on it with these header holly crap, you guys will love a video of this.

Well, another update, after 3000km of driving, the motor was sounding funny on left off of WOT at high RPM, and i would get this wondefull single knock on hot startups. ended up being the DRTC streching, most likely due to not clearancing the timing cover enough, even though i had put the timing cover on with no gasket and rotated the engine and didnt get any interfiranace. Oh well, 100$ on a timing chain, pulling the motor to wash out the pan later.
I was experiancing some high underhood temps so i have purchased some DEI titanium treated header wrap, should look nice and keep things cooler.
