Need a roller cam for a high compression 3.1 build

I got all the parts now except the cam, this is a 3.1 bored .020 over with the iron head pistons in it. Goes into a Fiero. Used the coated skirt pistons and will do a little work on the heads/seats for some ZO6 valve springs I picked up. When I get the pistons in the block tomorrow I will measue the clearance I have for the valves and get some roller rockers to get it right when I find a cam. Anyone with a fairly agressive roller cam laying around drop me a note. I'll take a couple of pictures then the crank and pistons are in the block. I will have some fairly high spring pressures, so I think I will need a solid core cam. Larry

Is this a 3100 block with iron heads or a GenI block?

A GenI block will require serious work to make a roller cam and lifters work right.

This is a 94 gen3 with iron head pistons and aluminum heads. Came stock with roller lifters. Larry

Thats good but when you said 3.1L, iron head pistons and Fiero right away it points to a Gen I iron headed motor. But since it is actually a 3100 block you'll be good to go. WOT can get anyhting ground so it would be a good place to start. If your really looking for cam insight then I suggest reading John Vizzard's How to Build Horsepower. His way of selsectig a cam really changed my perspective of what a camshaft needs to be for a specific job and engine. it is a very good read and it was written rescently so the info is relevant to todays engines.

I used to do that with my Motortrends, but my books on engine building cost me a bit more, so I keep them down here in my man cave in the basement with my pc, xbox and home theater, lol.
