I see several hybrid builds, why not just swap the whole motor? I think someone mentioned starter mounting, but couldn't you drill te other side of the block for a starter?

there are already 2 3500 swapped Camaros around... the starter mounting thing is old news, with a 700R4 the FWD position works fine, with a 4L60E use a 4th gen 3.8 Camaro bellhousing, with a T5 use a dual-pocket bellhousing found on old Isuzu troopers (if i remember right)

mine wouldn't be going into a Camaro, it'd be going into something a little more custom, (read alot more custom)
same thing for a twin dual cam?"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."

Mine is going into a Mustang, with a 4L60E. TDC will be the same as far as mounting up to any of the listed trannies.

I've never really had a chance to look at a fwd 60* bare block, is the pad there far a starter on both side, and just not machined? I know rodney dickman sells a jig to drill a rwd block for a fwd starter location, is the reverse possible?"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. IIRC, no it not possible, as there isn't enough meat on the block anymore in that area to allow for drilling the holes. I'll see if I can find a pic...-Brad-

bszopi is right, on the FWD block there is room for the 1 bolt but the block ends a little after that. I'm sure you could make something to support the other side of the starter but the options are pretty good with it on the stock side.
what trans are you looking at using?
