  • 3.4 egr ?

    I recently installed a 3.4 out of a 96 sillhouette into a 95 gp. car runs great using stock ecm (3.1). The problem is that the egr valve is different, the 96 van engine uses a digital egr while the 95 gp used the old three solenoid egr valve, the mounting pad on the manifold is different and i believe the 3.4 has larger intake ports so i cant swap manifolds. does anyone know how i can make this work?
    by the way , 3.4 is way torquier than old 3.1.

    Easiest thing is to delete the EGR.

      that is the way I am running it right now, how can i do that and not set a code?

        with a HP tuners or EFI live, or just a block off plate and put it off to the side. if not just not unplugging it will run a code, but wont effect anything.

          That egr adaptor would work if he swaps the plenum out for a 00+ plenum, wich would be a good idea!

          I just swapped to a 00+ plenum and made an adaptor to get my egr to work (emissions test was due). I noticed a slight performance increase with the newer plenum, mostly at part throttle.
          1999 Olds Alero 2.4 to 3500 swap (running). totaled by a honda
          1992 lumina 4 door 3500 3spd auto 15.020 @93.5 mph
          1984 Cavalier type 10 hatch 3100 5spd!!!
          14.96@91.47 in the 1/4
          9.63@74.36 in the 1/8th
          14.30 on slicks! scrapped due to rust!
