How would I go about doing an Obd II swap on my 95 Beretta when I put the 3500 in?

You would need to get the following from a 96' beretta with obd2:
Wiring harness
ecu
shorter glove box
maf sensor
Theres deff more stuff i just cant remember, you also need to splice some wires and get someone or something to tune it.
You most likly have to get all this stuff yourself because ive had this stuff posted in the wanted section for months with no results. -
you could use a harness from a 00-05 grand am, Robert1980 did that, so i cant get you to much help unless i look into it myself. Otherwise Slinky's way is the easiest way. i have a 96 OBDII harness from tails to fog lights in my garage that i'm not parting with anytime soon. If you have the 92+ interior style you will have alot less issues, if you grab the harness, you will not need the tail light section, but i suggest grabbing everything else, including under the dash. I'd have to look at the harness myself and know what year your beretta is to find out if you would need anything more than just the main engine computer harness that runs from the passenger side firewall to the motor. of course you could always splice a few wires or re pin a few connectors, but i prefur to get the whole thing for the swaps that i've done. It is a beretta after all.
One day soon i'd like to write an article for building your own OBD2 stand alone harness that just requires Power, ground, ignition, starter, and fuel pump to be hooked up. Mostly just taking a Grand am harness and trimming the fat. That or build and sell them.

wel i have a 95, and when you say everything behind the dash you mean all the cluster and everything, or ... would it be worth it to upgrade to obd II? or is it more hassle than needed?Comment

well i dont believe you can tune your OBD1.5 (yeah it sounds stupid, but thats what it is) if your just going to swap a 3400 and put larger injectors go to town, but if you plan on making some mods like a cam and forced induction, it would be a good idea to switch to something easly more tunable. its really not that hard to do at all, people just get really scared of touching wires but its as simple as building a gingerbread house. if you grab everything from the donor car, nothing can go wrong. And i quote, "pulling a beretta dash is extremelly easy" And its a yes no answer to pulling all the wires from under the dash and cluster to be nessisary for the swap, i have to refresh my memorie by looking at my 96 harness. If this is something your going to actually do start scouting for a donor car at the wrecker now, so come summer time you can pull apart your car with out breaking any clips and getting overly fustrated with the intall in the cold. Pulling it apart is one thing to do in the cold, but putting it back together is another. If you find a car i'll walk you through what you need to do. If its still in the air, i wont bother writing up a description of what exactly needs to happen to pull the dash, once youve done it once, youve done it a million times.

OK sounds good. Ill let you know when I get everything. So just get all the wiring from a 96. In the other thread it was saying something about 98 GA exuberance and wiring?Comment

not sure what your talking about, someone might be talking about using that PCM for tuning, there was something about not being able to tune the actual 96 PCM with a HP turner i think, or some other tuner, or any other tuner, the PCM is simply not suppourted, so you will have ot get a newer PCM from a grand am or venture, its no big deal, i recall it being a straight plug and play. Youll just get a check engine light for the down stream 02 sensor not being there, but thats ok, that can be deleted from the PCM along with anything else that could be an issue. If you find a beretta to grab the harness from, just send me a PM and i'll give you a good walk through of tools you need and where hidden bolts are and a few tips and tricks. I had written something up on Bstuff years ago but that site is probably gone for good now. ;(Comment
