Ok so i figured it would be smart to make a complete list of all parts/prices needed for this

    Engine:
    3400 motor $140
    Chip $50
    G1 adapter $35
Oil Castrol edge or moble 1? $20
    Oilfilter Fram gold $10
    Sparkplugs bosch platnum +4? $30
    Sparkplug wires Napa premium $45
Beretta Motor upper motor mount $Unknown
Coolant use DEX or GREEN? $10 - 20
custom exhaust down pipe Quoted $120

    Engine Total: $470+

    Transmission:
    Getrag 282 $55
    Driverside axle $19
    Passanger axle $19
    Gear oil? What kind? $Unknown
    Clutch/break pedle assembly $10
    Shifter $10
    shifter cables $20

    Transmission Total: $133+

    Total: $603+
I know i forgot parts so im sure im looking at more like 700 - 750

    Considering some other stuff...

    1. Ac Delete? Anyone know were to get one? ive already cut out most of the ac lines and removed the canister only pump is left now.

    2. Is it better to use the newer style mount? ive seen custom brackets for sale to use the olderstyle like mine?
the reason i ask about mount is idk what to do with the coolant overflow or wiperfluid if i use never stlye

    3. Idealy ill find a transmission with a brand new clutch :P yea right !! anyways i know NOTHING about clutchs other then how to use one so some advice would be nice!

Im trying to make this super detailed so if theres ANYTHING i missed let me know

its extremely easy to get that bolt with a 3 foot extension, you will need to get a 1/2 drive extension though, otherwise a 3/8's will just twist and twist and twist. you could even make one if you cant find one for under 20$
that mount that i put a picture up of was drilled off of the car from the spot welds. when you get your 3400, you will need to replace the timing cover i believe with a 94-96 beretta timing cover, or second gen grand am (94-97?) most likely grab the timing cover from the car your grabbing all the other parts from. Just get a saw and cut off the frame rail and strut tower. And grab all the accessories that your other motor wont come with. thats your best bet. Or hey, see if the scrap yards have a core charge, if so, grab the timing cover from a blow motor, or put an add up in the buysell section. John or Ben might have some, you never know.
Trans oil should be Gm syncromesh, or i think someone else makes it, i think its 4 liters. possibly 2 but you'll have to check. If you have to pull the timing cover, which you probably will, i would suggest getting a new timing chain if you plan to put lots of miles on it before you pull it to modify the internals. get a 99 pre 3400 timing chain, just a cheap one, but if you want to spend the money a GM is $150
And your over paying for the exhaust. You will need to get a welder for the mount bracket. Also, you will need a very thin wide chisle, and it would be a good idea to get some self centering 5/16 drill bits, the end looks like there is a smaller sized drill bit sticking out, and use some wd40 to keep the bit cool otherwise it will burn up and go dull, I've used one bit on over 200 spot welds by keeping it nice and cool all the time while drilling. When there 15$ a piece, its worth it to waste a 3$ can of wd40.
IDC about the grammer, i just spewed this all out haha

Wow 140 for the whole motor.I spent 250 for 3500 heads and a LIM but they have 20xxx miles on them. The trans takes 2 1/2 quarts i would use GM Synchromesh.Less wear and better with high temp i would check it to a few days after.

are you doing a hybrid swap in the end? i think a 99 venture 3400 would be the same as a 2000+ motor aside the chain and upper intake with the EGR. of course it will be a PITA to pull as it comes out the bottom easiest. And you will have to change the timing chain. I dont recall when the GA's started coming with 3400's, i think it was 2000? anyways, i hope it works out for you getting the 3400 for $140 leaves alot more money for the budget or and a rebuild.
