I wish mine were that straight and such, mine curve around everywhere. My back ones are really weird compared to your's.

thanks guys.
aaron they are 1-5/8ths into a 2.5inch collector. the collector reducers dump it down to 2inch for the street. i figured dual 2.1/4 would be too big..
Ben, im not sure how the Stock ECM is going to re-act to this :P.
however i do have a nice set of 22# injectors ive had sitting around for months now and that Holley commander 950 ECU to still install. wont likely get that hooked up and start tuning untill July or so with that.
going to see how it runs with the Stock ECM first.
oh dont worry i'll get sound clips or a vid doneColin

oh and no. they wont fit a malibu either.
im not making any of these. the only thing they'd fit is a J and N body. and only with a 5spd manual.. the front would not work at all with an Auto..Colin

I didn't realize that they were true duals

they wont be true duals.. im mearging them in a custom made dual 2inch into 2-1/2 Y collector i made, its a 9 inch long merge. looks hella cool.
just keeping it single after the headers. much more simple, less piping, less weight. for track use i'll be running open headers with collector extension/downturns
fuck i hope it doesnt make my 1500-2500 rpm range raspy again...argh. dealt with that issue when i used a 80 series flowmaster years back.. fucking anoying.Colin

Nice work Colin! Are you running a cat? If not, the exhaust note is going to be a bit on the raspy side. This is why I have gone to two mufflers to try to quiet it down. With my headers, not cat, and Flowmaster 80 series, the car was downright annoying to drive on the street.

You should not have much back pressure with that diameter which is very similar to mine made by Steve Hamm.
I just hope it does not slow you down in the deep snow.
Na, the 'bird is a summer only car. ive got a 92 Subaru Legacy AWD for the winter months. that car actually makes winter driving fun!!!
Marty.. yeah when i had stock manifolds, no cat and a flowmaster80 series... ughghghg... horrid..
i had to put a resonator on there to tone it down.
but im goign to try it with no cat and just a flowmaster 40 series... see how bad it really is.. then i might have to add in a cat or another resonator(glasspack) to tone it down for street duty.
tonight im starting on my afterheader system. going to fab that up. hopefully it'll be running for saturday for the track!!Colin

I tried just about every muffler out there (Flowmaster 80-series, Dynomax Super Turbo, Dynomax Ultraflow, Warlock, Generic Tuffy muffler). I was able to get the exhaust quiet enough with the generic Tuffy passenger car muffler, but the exhaust pulses still resonated the muffler like a tin can. The Dynomax one's had the worst resonance.
I finally ended up with the Flowmaster. It was the loudest, but sounded the best. I would design the rest of the system with the resonator in mind
Be sure to share some pictures of the progress, especially the Y-pipe you are making.

I have 1 5/8 primary to a 3" collector and 2.5" through the DynoMax Super Turbo muffler, no cat. Funny with the extra power of the blower on at cruise the exhaust is a bit noisey with a slight raspiness on accel, but never tinny. Without the blower it cruise is comfortably quiet and accel has a nice mellow burble.
