  • Roller tipped rockers help...

Ok...i did my part and searched the forum two nights straight and read countless posts for information on installing the roller rockers/roller tipped rocker arms after a Beretta buddy did this swap on his 2.8 and ended up grenading his engine. I do not want this to be my demise as i am right in the middle of my build for my Beretta and would like to install the roller tipped 1.6:1 Comp rockers http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-1414-12/ on my build and am now asking for the answer i didn't find by searching for it.

What do i need to make them work and have them work correctly???

    Thanks in advance!!!

You don't need to do anything special. They are a direct bolt on. The only thing you need to do is make sure you put all the pushrods in the right spot because the exhaust ones are longer than the intake ones. If you get them wrong you can do damage.

You need to check the clearance between the pushrods and the pushrod guides. They may need to be notched a little. Also you may need a washer on top of the nut to have enough thread to tighten the nut down. I had that with the 1.52s.

Ok...ordered new pushrods (came in the cam kit actually) and, I'll look again, but what came with the kit and what i took out, are all the same length.

What cam/kit did you get? Iron head pushrods are all the same length, but your Beretta will have aluminum heads, and thus require different length pushrods.

Pushrods do not come in the K kits. You did not waste your money you will be able to use all the parts except the spring retainer and locks since the aluminum heads use 8mm valve stems instead of the 11/32 iron head stems. I believe the riming set can be use with no issue. If you want pushrods you will have to order some but typically you don't need new ones.

I remembered that as soon as i saw your reply and the pushrods i bought are comp pushrods p/n: 7816-12...which i can see now are the wrong pushrods.

                Thanks for the info!!!
