alright, mark, you won me over. I dont' mind helping, I just hate the newb like posts is all.

You will have to get custom pistons if you want them forged.

Or just get Hyper pistons and have the tops coated. Bam. Less money and almost as good.

Turbo cams are a bit harder to find, but supercharger cams or abundant. Go with a RSM supercharger kit. Be different. Plus you can easily intercool it.

i know forged will handle most boost applications, but ive never heard of any hyper (may i assume its short for hypertech?) pistons. will they handle 14 lbs of boost for just racing and 8 or 9 for daily driving? where can i get them? and moreoever where can i get the tops coated (no speed shops in my local area, yes, it sucks donkey balls)

      thanks

Hyperhuetectic pistons is waht they are. Silvolite makes them. Just do a search for silvolite. you can look he piston part number up on their site.

Also swain tech will do the coatings. Do a search for them. They can coat the piston tops for not too much money. It will keep the heat in the chamber where it belongs.

I saw that you were looking at getting your heads ported. I am working on a set right now and if interested I can speed up the work on them to get them done for you. Gasket matched to lower, opening of the ports to match the gasket, and bowl work. I almost have one done so far. Just need to do a bit more cleanup and blending of the bowls

Heads will come bare so you will have to have a machine shop put them togethor wth yoru own parts.

ok i beleive i have the correct part number for the pistons, but on the silvolite website they make no mention of where i can purchase the pistons? do i need to go to a speed shop for that? nothing on ebay and i couldnt find anything on yahoo. i know, i suck at searching, but none of my friends have found anything on teh internet as well. just a part number; #3409.

and shawn, how much for the heads? gimme a buzz on aim or something.

Liquid, I haven't really thought about selling ported heads. I was just doing this as a side project for me that I could swap onto mine. However, with the parts and labor, I figure around $200 to $250 would be what I would charge for a full port job. that would include, gasket match, full port of the runners, and bowl matching. Its not that expensive really if you check around what some shops charge. Of course they are professionals and have been doing it for quite some time. Which is of course why I am charging much less. but I guess I can throw in the stipulation that if you aren't satisified with them, then just send them back.

I have some pics of what I have so far. its hard to really see how well they are done though from the pics. I dont' think it does them justice. If you want I can email them since my server is down for the time being.

I have got one head done. Intake ports gasket matched, englarged, and the bowls are ported as well. Turned out real nice. I can email pics but I would prefer to have someone host the pic and then just post the link here. I don't want to have to email 20k people asking for pics.

Hi, I just registered, and I find that this thread has answered 99.9% of all my questions. Now I know where to get the cam, pistons, and many other performance mods. The one question I want to ask is if I where to turbo this 3.4, what am I looking at for cam, rockers, pistons, and the such to optimise it for forced induction. I would basicly beef up the internals, and use a ported, polished, and matched intake and the same with the heads. All I wanto to know, is what kind of componets I should be looking for. Thanks for any info in advance.
