  • 3.4 build: best bang for the buck?

ive got a 3.4 on the way and i had originally planned on doing the following.

forged pistons, cam, ported exhaust and intake manifolds, larger TB and upper intake (plenum), underdrive pulley, and finally boost

is there anything else that i should look into or am i pretty much on the money here.

looks good. however if you are going to boost it get a cam that has a turbo grind. It will pay off in the long run once you get your turbo on.

alright. what about the heads, can i use the aluminum heads on a 95 camaro 3.4?

also, u must be the notorius shawn that gets banned on pennocks right? if you are, thumbs up to you, i find the old threads funny as hell.

You can't use the aluminum heads on the 3.4 Camaro unless you go with a lower CR piston. There are several threads that discuss this on the forum. Do a quick search and you'll probably find out alot of the info you are looking for, and might even find some things you hadn't even thought of. Since its a popular swap idea, we have some pretty good discussions on it all.

anyone want to help me with part numbers, i dont realy care where u get them from, but preferably cheaper if possible (because we all like to save money here). i need to find the pistons mainly, so if anyone has any part numbers from summit, or ross, or anywhere else. please post em so i dont go walking around aimlessly. it is for a 95 pushrod 3.4

I may be wrong here but the pistons will have to be custom. Nobody makes a 3.4 forged piston.

                check out http://www.ftpp.net/index.html
click on the camaro link and then the V6 link and then internal engine link on the left hand side, they will be custom made but Ross forged pistons but since they have it already all set up it make things easier.

You know I am wondering. You have like 1600 posts over on Pennocks and yet you are still asking such basic questions. Havent' you learned a GD thing while over on that other board? Or do you just post useless crap and no pay attention to any of the actual real tech threads over there? I would think with 1600 posts you would have picked up something by now.

Why don't you do a search over there. Its been covered to death.

And yes I am the notorius Shaun from over there. its a love hate thing with me.

hahaha, as much of an ass shawn sounded to my reading, i dont blame him. yes, i have 1600 something posts over at pennocks, but i just started playing with the idea of a 3.4 and i thought u guys would be of better use. so i might get some real answers instead of "why dont u save up for a v8...." see my point for asking here?
