  • the start of a long build

well i now have a core to build on. i replaced the knock knock engine and decided to not turn it in for the core.

for now this will be mostly bench racing as i realy do not have the time or extra money laying around but would like to get a good plan down so i am not buying things twice or three times lol (did that with the gp i think i bought 3 sets of headers for that car)

so far i am pretty sure i will do a 3500 top end but what is better 3500 UIM or 3400 UIM? it will be ported eather way

another thing is i am planning on using 3.4L RWD pistons in this thing but not too crazy on running 13.5:1 compression (if that's even possible)

and that's about as far as i have gotten

    open too suggestions

All I can say is DAMN! 13.5:1? You must be wanting to run race gas in that sh¡t! Hahaha

If you have a good set of 3400 pistons ill trade you straight up for my 3.4 RWD pistons!

i will take you up on that if the pistons are good. the engine has no compretion in cylinder 6 and i need to find out why first

we have corn gas up here in the great white north that is michigan also i plan on a custom cam that would bleed cylinder pressure but i think it would be more like 11:1 using 3500 gaskets

i will also be selling the 3400 top end as well if it is all good (i think a valve is bent)

How low is the compresssion? It can be anything from leaky rings to bad valve seats and bad valves/ warped heads, and what happened to my dads jeep, a cracked head.

My pistons are in great shape. I pulled the running (I drove it) 3.4 from a 95 camaro in july. Im doing a 3.4/3500 and I dont plan to run high compression so I need 3400 pistons.

In my research, 3.4/3500 w/ rwd pistons and .040 head gaskets gives you 12.3 static CR, 11.5 with .060 HG's. 11.5 is doable on pump premium with a healthy cam.
I would just go for a 3500 UIM, as all the 3400 guys seem to do that. Ive seen more people run the 3400 UIM when boosting. Its mainly a matter of personal preference, or looks.

Either way, send me a pm so we can talk pistons there...

first thing that got me was the size of the intake ports. compared to the 3800 there massive
