  • Performance for 3400?

Ok so if i want to would a nice NA motor outta my 3400 i got. what would be a good up grade parts list?

List of what i believe should be a must/good up grade.
    3500 heads with p&p
    3500 or bigger throttle body.
    12:5.1 forged pistons.

anything else you could add would be great also part numbers and links to where i could get these parts would be awesome thanks

You can't run 12.5:1 on a stock cam, so something with more duration so it will bleed compression off at lower RPMs would be a good idea. You will need stiffer springs for the cam as well. To go that high on compression, I recommend upgrading your timing chain to a double roller setup.

Or you can drop the compression to the 10.5:1 range and possibly still use a stock cam or a smaller cam at least than what is needed for 12.5:1. Its really a matter of budget and goals if you want to build something that lasts. If its a track only deal and will be torn down often, then the timing chain set can just be changed out more often.

Correct i forget to put a nice big lift cam in the post. As for drivavility it would be a project for now so as for now its an all out motor its going to take a while be4 its done or even put together. What timing chain would you recommend? and Also who makes a BIG race style cam for the 3400? I"m talkin somthing that really is going to lope. I would be planning to mate this with a 5spd. Prob a 3.94 Nvg-550 with lsd and slicks
