thanks chris. i have a meeting with the bank tomorrow agian about getting a loan. i just set up a checking account with them. so maybe that will help my chances of getting the loan. it would be a $4,000 1 year loan. we'll see. if that happens this build should be done in about 2 months instead of after xmas haha. oh anohter question i have besides the teflon parts, i want to upgrade the tranny. i wanna stick to the 4t45e, i dont think i have enough power to worry about the 4t65e hd....and the hassel of having to moddify it in to fit. if i remember correctly theres a company (rabestos) or something like that...that sell kits to upgrade the tranny. basically i just want the tranny i have now to be strong enough to handle this power im throwing at it.

Since this is an N/A build, it's a good idea to stick with a built up 4T45E. Also, an LSD is worth picking up if you're going to take apart the trans.

Phil, I haven't seen your GA in quite awhile, did you ever pick up wheels?

Nice find, I'm keeping this link handy when my trans needs a rebuild.

                Kudos.

no one has answered the question yet but im still wondering if the teflon parts that are offered over the regular parts on wot-tech are worth the extra money?

I'm not certain if DuPont recommends Teflon to be used in engines or not.
If you really want the extra bit of insurance for cold starts or an oil pump failure, I'd look for a coating specifically made for engine bearings.
                        Maybe try SwainTech.

I've never heard of raybestos offering reds for the 4T45E. It would be easy enough for them obviously since they already make the blues, but they did come out with the blues first. From what I read on their clutch guide though, if you are increasing the HP and torque, then the blues are the ones you want to go with, not reds.

I thought I heard someone say the blues too...and as far as the telfon coated parts...its just the ones that are offered on wot-tech...and I was wondering if those parts were worth having the teflon

Blue for full race, Red for street. Thats why they made the red. Ask mfuller he is running the blue but would be runnning the red if it would have been made.

I still say blues. I have blues and I run them on the street. Reds are basically a more durable OEM type replacement. They are not meant for any significant torque increase. If you're making more power than stock and see ANY track use you will want the blues.
