  • stock gph? help with electric pump

does anyone have any idea how much our water pumps gph is? And what would be a ideal gph in a electric pump for a lx9 running in rwd plat form? I'll be using it as a dd and it will be in the 300hp area. do note that I have never used a electric pump before so any help with this as well as ones that will last would help greatly. I've posted before about this but it was some reason it was deleted?

We have many MG conversions running electric water pumps. Both 35GPH & 55GPH pumps are being used with no issues. EMP/Stewart makes a 55GPH inline pump that should work well. We will most likely be using one in the very near future on a LX9 MG Midget conversion. The best price that I have found for them is at Lingenfelter. If you find a better price, let me know.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering was founded in 1973 and is a globally recognized brand in the performance engineering industry offering engine building, engine and chassis tuning components and installation for vehicle owners; component product development; services to manufacturers, aftermarket, and original equipment suppliers; prototype and preparation of product development vehicles.

Probably just lost track of it since it was in PR General instead of PR Performance.

nope that's not it. "stock water pump output" cant find it anywhere.

how do you know if your over pumping? if it is even possiable. that's why I asked to see if anyone here had an idea for the stocker. I was thinking it put out 20 on the rwd and 23 on the fwd. And does some here have a suggestions on pump amp.s vs. gph. I've seen as low as 19gph~55gph and 3.5amp~12amp.

cncguy , how long have you had one of those pumps last for you?
has anyone found any kind of filter system for coolant? as that your not dumping iron flakes back in your brand new radiator and going back up and f**n up your new pump?

We have customers who have been running them for over five years so far. As for miles, I don't know. No filters that I have ever seen.

The simplest way to do it would be to install a block off plate in place of the water pump and use an inline pump in the stock lower hose. Another option, though much more expensive, would be to saw the water pump housing from the front cover and weld on bungs so NPT/AN fittings could be used. Depends on the look you are going for and your budget.
