  • Edelbrock intake / Holley carb on a 2.8

Can someone help me out here? I have a 1984 Chevy S-10 with a 2.8L and an automatic transmission. I recently acquired an Edelbrock Torker intake (part number 3785 base and 3789 top) and a Holley 8007 390 cfm carb on the way. I want to have everything laid out to do the swap without mulitple runs to O'Reilly's and Autozone, so my question is this; which brackets am I going to need to do the install? Will I need the 700R-4 Kickdown Throttle Bracket (Holley part number 20-121) or the GM AOD Kickdown Cable Bracket (Holley part number 20-95) or will I need both? If anyone else out there has done this, any help/advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I have this question posted on the S-10 forum, and keep getting answers like "You'll need RTV and oil"...well duh. I just need to know what brackets to use. Thanks for any help you can provide. Also, it's been a while since I have been on here and the layout is different, so if this is in the wrong forum I apologize.

Welcome! Unfortunately, FWD guys are more prominent around here than the RWD guys. But there are some, so give it a day or 2 and hopefully some one will be able to answer your questions.

Easy man you don't always get an answer the same day. Most of us do have day jobs.

You have a 700R4 trans. Get the kit. If the stock bracket wont work then you can use the Holley one. If it does work take the Holley one back.
