  • Flywheel- Pressure Plate Bolts

I have measured the bolts to attach the flywheel to my 3.4 V-6 and they appear tp be 10mm 1.0 pitch 25mm long with 6 required. For the pressure plate they appear to be 8mm 1.25 pitch 20mm long with 6 required.

Can someone confirm this? Also what is a good source for purchasing? This engine is going in a light weight sports car that will no doubt be driven hard. Flywheel and pressure plate bolts is not something I want to go cheap on. ARP has no listing for these bolts in their catalog. Is this adealership purchase?

Thanks in advance! Sorry if this has been discussed before but I was not able to finda thread.

i just put my clutch in, for the flywheel bolts, i used ford 4.6l flywheel bolts(they are the same thread just 1/10th of an inch longer), and for the pressure plate i used grade 10.9 zink coated bolts 25mm, they came just about flush with the rear of the flywheel, the factory bolts were something like 21.6mm long..

the ford bolts do have a taller head on them, but i checked clearance with my spec clutch and the springs cleared them fine.

Where did you purchase the flywheel and pressure plate bolts?

flywheel bolts from ford dealer, the pressure plate bolts from maryland metrics (a local bolt supplier)

Honestly you can reuse the stock bolts provided there is no thread damage. If you want the flywheel bolts then pick them up at your dealership. I used allen head cap screws for my pressure plate on my Isuzu. They work great and are 12.9 grade.

i was going to go the allen head route too, but they wasnt in-stock at the time i picked them up, and didnt feel like putting off putting the engine back in any longer.
