  • 3.1L hybrid Question

This is a question I have been pondering for awhile. Starting to gather parts for my 3.1/3400/3500 hybrid. Question is (does anyone that has done the 3.1 hybrid had any dyno numbers run to get a basic hp/torque out of said hybrid?) What I am trying to say is. What is the average hp/torque on these swaps? I know cams will play a role in it too, along with exhaust, injectors and computer tuning, etc, etc...
Sorry for the long post, my curiosity is getting the better of me

what kind of a hybrid are you building, a 3100 large port swap, a 3400 top end swap, or a 3500 top end on a 3400?

The last N/A hybrid i saw on the dyno put down about 140 WHP, it had a small cam and was auto. stock 3400 5 speeds were putting down 195 ish on the same dyno, the same day.

IMO, Hybrids are a waste if you can avoid it. Just drop in a whole 3400 and enjoy.

It could be different on another dyno but when a stock 3.1 5 speed dynos at right around 100 WHP the same day i tend to believe it's fairly accurate.

          a 3500 with a 3400 chip, 2.8 log manifolds and a tiny exhaust put down 200 WHP
