  • 89 2.8L Berretta 1.6 rockers

Has anyone use Comp Cams 1414-12 roller tip rockers on a stock 2.8 L engine? Do you have to run guide plates or do they self align? If I can't run those, can I run a 1.6 small block chevy rocker with the original stock ball and nut (10mm)? I run a max of 4800-5000 rpm. Do I need to change valve springs? I would imaging that the computer will handle this change.

Yea you can run them on the Gen I and II engines. They work great and you can't beat the price. If you have the shouldered net lash rocker studs it maybe wise to switch to the iron head studs which allow adjustment. The rockers come with new adjuster nuts.

I used the roller tips on a '91 'retta GT 3.1 with a performance cam, all stock equipment and got really nice results. The car was a monster all the way up to 5500rpm. That was stock ECU/stock tune with 110k miles on the motor. Of course I did replace the timing chain/gears for insurance.

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda
