my PCV valve is oem so that shouldn't be the problem. would a vacuum leak cause this? i think i might have a bad LIM seal but im not sure. im also going to do a compression check to double check my valves and head gasket. cuz i didnt lap the valves or anything when i put them in the head. something just feels off..but i didnt care much cuz the car is getting ripped apart soon enough anyway to put the ported heads on.

but under acceleration it makes like a vvvssshhhhhh...i know..very helpful, right? ill try to get a video sometime. i always thought it was just the new tighter belt that made the noise. cuz its all engine at idle then u can hear that noise when gas is applied. idk

but ill try to figure out my idle-gear situation. kinda pissed to find out it doesnt really have much to do with the converter..so another issue.

How long ago was the PCV valve replaced? Does it still rattle? If you think it's a vacuum leak (which it could be since it's got a noise under accel), try spraying gasket mating areas and rubber hoses down with some carb cleaner. If your idle changes you just hit a vacuum leak. Propane also works in place of carb cleaner.

Actually, your description of the sound is helpful. If I am correct, it sounds like you have an obstructed exhaust.

alright ill do the carb cleaner thing to test stuff out. and its also possible it is an exhaust leak because i was very gentle putting the manifolds back on cuz i didnt want to break another stud..so it might be lose?.. ill try things out..ill poke around and see if the noise changes.

ill try to get a video up of my car driving and idling...there are a few issues id like to address and i think it'd be easier for u guys to help me if u could see/hear it.

You don't have to be gentle with manifolds. Torque them down to spec. A stud shouldn't break unless there was something wrong with it or the nut when applying the correct torque.
