sorry, but if he's trying to run it on $A1, and is using my XDF for it, and STILL fails, i would questioning his tuning skills. i spelled out what everything does in plain english, punched in every constant, flag and table i could find(though i don't have the def from TC to compare to, i'd be willing to bet mine is more complete) and even gave tips on a few things that would confuse people new to this.

i even made VE autotuners, EGR tuners, fuel economy guages that are accurate as far as i can tell, trip fuel economy, a narrowband openloop AFR guage that's accurate for being a narrowband, injector duty cycle and i can't even remember what else.

Have you ruled out fuel delivery/volume issues or done any diagnostics to rule out any possible repair/maintenance issues.
If we assume he is tuning correctly, but can't get the injectors to fire less than 8ms than it could be as simple as a fuel filter clogged up.

          Just an idea.
I concur that if this guy can't even diagnose properly though,he doesn't need to be tuning.
To be able to properly tune you must learn diagnosis first.

everyone does know how long 8ms is right? factory sized injectors on a 3.1 or 3100 fire at roughly 2ms or less at idle in closed loop...

I am running L67 injectors in a 3100v6. This is my first time tuning a PCM and I have no problems with a rich idle.

I set the injector flow at 36 lbs/hr and continued to tune the VE Tables.

If a first time tuner can use 36 pounders in a 3100 w/o a hitch and your tuner can't, I'de get a new tuner.

Perhaps "The Tooner's" FEET are too big...and not AM2K's EFIs?

Time for a little "size" levity here...
