I remember awhile back somebody said to use VW gaskets for a 60 degree. Was it for the newer gens or does it work with iron heads. Or was I just dreaming it all up? I'd really like to find some copper or aluminum gaskets like we ran on our v8 but I doubt anybody makes them.

OBX Racing makes headers for the 2.8 s10. The OBX headers i bought for me 2.2 S10 uses a metal gasket, so im assuming the headers for the 2.8 also use metal gasket. Maybe look up OBX racing and send them an email or something to ask if they have the gaskets you're looking for? Ill send a message over to the ebay vendor selling them to see if he knows for ya.
I cant tell from the pics if its metal though.

I have stage 8 locking bolts in the mail. I don't have problems with the bolts I was just wanting something better than the paper gasket that came with my headman headers. I've got a set of fel pro exhaust manifold gaskets I'm gonna give a shot now. They are some kinda metal and carbon looking stuff.
BTW the bolts are 8x1.25x25mm, a few newer fords, the LS chevy v8s, and even dodges all use the size. If you get stage 8 locking header bolts the locking tab is different on them so you pretty much have to use the ones for a 2.8 GM (or jeep but we know they are the same).Last edited by neo71665; 03-17-2010, 05:16 PM.87 3.4 4x4 blazer

Just a note (tiny thread jack) to Roberisaar tied to this post via my "Headers" photobucket link:
Robert... as for any deliberate spraying of white VHT down inside the header tubes... I was actually trying to AVOID accidentally getting the stuff on the in-dwelling O2 sensors...so no... I tried to avoid doing just that. In the image where the header is suspended from the lift hoist... I had to get it positioned away from anything that might either get over-spray on them (like the two parked F-bodies) and afterwards...be able to apply a propane torch to congeal the soggy VHT paint and bake it into a sort of hard, mummified and crusty shell that later won't drop fiberglas particles into my eyes and mouth should I have to get under the car to manipulate them into position to bolt on the RemFlex Graphite Header Gaskets and the Honda Civic "ARP" bolts to bolt them onto the heads.
