  • Where to run wires through firewall?

    1996 Grand Prix SE 3100v6

I have to run several gauge signal wires.

I was looking all over and can't quite home in on an optimal spot. Was wondering if anyone knew of a port I'm missing or if I can be guided to a place I can drill safely.

I thought of running to the bottom of frame and drilling into the floor board, but not sure.

If I drill, I have grommets and caulking to seal.

    Thanks guys

Probably in the plate the pedals and steering goes through since it's only going to be one layer thick there (vs the two layers of steel on the passenger side from what I saw in the 91 doing the 5 speed swap). Besides, your gauges will be closer to you as well, and this would keep wiring shorter.

So I have to drill it?

Or is there a port for the dash gauges? Unless they are run through the passanger side like I suspect they are.

      Thanks

The dash gauges probably run through the C100 connector, which on my car is on the passenger side. I was under the impression you were talking about aftermarket gauges.

If you do have to drill a new hole, grab a unibit/step-drill. They eat through firewalls nicely.

Oh, I forgot about that one Although you don't have the option of that hole if you have a 5 speed... That hole is for the clutch master.
