No, as stated, the oil pan will be what gets modified, therefore allowing the engine to come foward a couple of inches and let everything clear the firewall. Now its just down to how much to modify the oil pan...

how far back can you chop the pan before you start running into the windage tray and all that junk?

looks like you need to do a Canton-style pan chop the front back, and add to the sides around the bottom. 7qt pan FTW!

Lol, just don't get caught, that's classified as theft (just like when I went diving at the local cardboard box recycling bins for boxes to use for moving).

Will a RWD pan fit a 3x00? Or how about a DOHC pan?

no, because the 3x00 pans are structural aluminum, with the crossbolts that go into the main caps. gen1 and Gen2 pans are just steel, bolt on oil pans.

As long as I keep the notch level with the existing notch in the pan, there won't be any interference with the windage tray. Now the pickup tube might be a possibility, but I think we can get it without any issues. We'll see.

Yeah, that crossed my mind while taking a leak this morning when I got up, lol. That wouldn't be a wise move to go with with the power output that is being hoped for with this thing. 2 bolt mains and no crossbolts FTL.

                      Oil pan operation time...

And in case you were wondering how thick the 3x00 oil pan really is...

Rest of the week is pretty booked up already, so not sure when I will be able to bolt this up to the engine and check clearances.
