Rough mockup with particle board. Initial measurements say that this welded on top of my 3500 manifold with my charger will fit under my new hood. Have to wait for the hood to arrive for final measurements before it gets machined out of aluminum.....

Well, the heater core idea, doesn't seem to be working out as well, although it may be the way I cut the manifold, which sucks. I recently have been researching a lot about laminova cores. I may move that direction given their great cooling effeciency and compact size.

have you ever thought about pre-intercooled air entering the S/C? as in being sucked through a intercooler before its compressed.
Its runs!!!>>>Aint No 60* Sound Like Mehttp://youtu.be/YKEmNwa141U

spray some nos infront of it, or water.

I haven't even considered it. As nick-g mentioned, it really isn't the best option. If I can fit it in between the motor and charger, that is where it is going. Period. On the bright side my new hood is scheduled for freight delivery Wednesday, so probably Friday after work/school the hood will go on and I can get exact height measurments with the new hood and how much room I have to play with.

probably not a good Idea to run water/meth/nos through an M90 or similar, I know they don't like fuel going through them."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. what you ought to look into is R-22 refrigerant, swap your heater core intercooler for an evaporator, and you'll have sub zero IAT's as long as the a/c compressor is going!"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I use to work for Eaton corp. t the Marshal Proving Grounds and tested the super chargers. The problem with using a condenser or a heater core ,is they are not made to with stand the pressure and the force at the delivery end on the Super charger. What will had is that the cooling fins on the heater core or condenser will start finding there way in to the engine. The harmonics of the super charger and the heat will break down the solder and start to dismantle what ever you use. I worked on the Audi V6 super charger project and we had a problem with the inter coolers that were made buy bear for that charger and it would degrade the inter cooler to the point of sending pieces of the intercooler in to the motor. The test was run on a stand and the Super charge would run at a low end speed of 16000 Rpms and would ramp up to 18000 Rpms and would do this for 1 hour and then would be shut down inspected and put back on the stand and ran at the speeds above . this process would go on till failure of the inter cooler. Which in most cases I would say 92% would fail with in 6 hours. And start leaking coolant start to the engine. These inter coolers were made to such close Standards that each unit would have to have 98% solder coverage. So the point is at most the heater core or condenser are only designed to see at most 25 psi internal of pressure and 0 if any external were a true intercooler is designed to see high temps and very high pressures. So I would say that if a heater core or condenser was used under the Super Charger first boost would destroy it and the motor. If you are trying to super cool your Charge air cooler make one that would incorporate a condenser in front of the CAC to move cooled air in front that would cool it farther. Of course there would be some power losted but if you use a 12volt type compressor that would not put a draw as much draw on power as a compressor connected t the motor. Just a thought.

Not that this matters as I am confident I will be using Laminova cores in one fashion or another, the technology is just superior for effeciency and space.

i could imagine this happening with the heater cores breakign down, i was also thinking that for space you could just get a length of 1/4 aluminum tubing to have water run through, and have it piped in the manifold, it wouldt work as effective as either other design, but i imagine it would work to an extent. worse case, spray meth.

Well, the new hood got here, and I mounted it......
Only gave me 4-5" of hood clearance over the stock manifold.......
which sucks considering the charger is 5.5" tall, and that doesn't include an intercooler which would be an extra ~2.5 inches......
So it looks like i'll be going back to a frount mount charger.....
but I will be able to use one of these....
