Yeah, lol. It would have been, wouldn't it? Especially if gramma had her grandkids in the back seat, lol.

Things like the 5.7l AWD Lumina. Too bad it was the gramma looking one, but still, one heck of an idea and it actually worked and was set up so production would have been possible.

got a link? I'd like to see more of this...

        • found a link with part/the article,

Anybody ever heard of this before? I stumbled across this today and it sounds pretty cool...I wish GM would have produced it. The Lumina Z50 idea was born in 1988 and was a Chevy Lumina with a 305 V8, AWD, and a five speed transmission. It would have had 285 hp and 280 lb ft of torque.

I did stumble upon this though...

            • IMO, he should have just modified the frame to account for the difference in wheelbase, rather than make the exterior look like an oddly proportioned beretta...

That was the article I was thinking of, but I thought it was a 5.7, not a 5.0.

                  • It wasn't so much confusion, more like trying to remember it after reading it some time ago. I used to have a quick copy of the scan of that page on my pc, but I believe that drive went south long ago and never bothered to find another copy.

                    • ah, well there were only 3 different gen2 SBCs made IIRC, the 5.7 LT1, the 5.0 in this article, and the 4.3 V8 used in the B-bodies.

                      we are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY OT.

                      • Gm DOES axe everything nice, look at what the fiero was becoming, the 1990 prototype was sick.......and I doubt they will ever use the corvette prototype from transformers 2 either, that body, zo6 engine, zr1 suspension, brakes and supercharger=win.....but I doubt they will ever make that body style, let alone combine those elements for the ultimate corvette, the zr1 is great and all, but its not all it could be....its plain jain looking and could have more power with a SC zo6 engine instead of a smaller 6.3......

                        • IIRC, GM's explanation on that was due to the 7.0 having too thin of cylinder liners/walls to reliably make the power it make under boost.
