We got to go on a tour today as part of the Society of Automotive engineers competition in Pontiac Michigan, they had quite a few 60v6's lying around.
Few intresting things I noticed. The blocks had both 3.5L and 3.9L stamped on the block. Engine mounting holes appear to be identical to the old 3.4L, with the 3900 having a different plenum than the 3500. The 3900 has a throttlebody which appears to be at least 65mm in diameter. Heads also look very similar.
Other things worth mentioning are an all aluminum 6L V10 and a 7.5L V10 they were in the process of testing.
With a little luck the 240hp 3900 might just bolt into the 2nd gen Jbody. THe tour we got was amazing, I'll go into more details later on, however right now we have one more even tommorow morning for our Formula car, so I am a little sleep deprived.
