exhaust

I have a 2003 pontiac grand prix with the 3.1 motor. it has the single exhaust and i wanted to upgrade to a dual exhaust. I only find after market systems for the 3.8. Is there any difference in the exhaust size and set up. If I can put a cat back system from a 3.8 on it I will Just want to make sure it will be a easy bolt on before I buy it.

The 3.8's exhaust should bolt-up fine to your car. I'm not sure if it'll meet up with the downpipe perfectly. But, even if it's a little off, any exhaust shop worth anything should be able to modify it to work.

I just planned on getting a cat back exhaust so i was hoping to just be able to bolt up behind the converter. im sure i will have to add a hanger on the drivers side since there wasn't a muffler on that side but I would think it would just be a matter of getting the rubber hanger.

just go to your local muffler shop and have one custom built, it will cost about the same as anything pre made, plus you can pick out what mufflers and tips you would like to see under your car.

but yes, the 3.8 kit will work, with an adapter or something to make it fit on to your engines collector pipe thinggy
