lol, very true. Another thing is that there were no V6 GA's produced with a manual tranny. Kinda makes it special...

I have no idea about PCM talk. I plan on eventually buying HPTuner's and teaching myself. I'm not paying Milzy, that's for sure. You know he charges $4000 to swap a GP to manual? That's ridiculous...

what axles are you using? I have to finish my custom mounts and well, and then it is bleed the clutch and go, the PCM was the easiest part so far....

hybrid of the beretta(282 donor) and the GA axle. You basically need to use the inner CV of the beretta.

Email me if you need in detail instructions for it.

        Nice to see an N-body.

Would you mind starting a new thread for the trans swap into a vehicle that didnt have the option? We could use that information on the site.

just wondering what you did, I also did that, except with 86 fiero axle, on the drivers side, then used an 88 beretta gt jackshaft with an upgraded bracing and then a stock alero axle on the passenger side....

so you used the 282, what kind of clutch do you have, gearset as well?

I actually used the nvt-550 (internal slave) with a rare gleason-torsen LSD and 3.94 FDR gear set i was able to get my hands on. I am used a cheapo napa clutch for now and then when the built motor goes in I have a clutchmaster fx400 4 puck, with a fidanza aluminum flywheel....

              Lmao @ Captain

Ok I will do that in the near future. I'm also at gaownersclub with the same s/n, and have a thread about this. Car isn't done yet but if I owned a welder, I could finish it (got laid off, so no welder access)

GA driv. side outter CV w/
                GA axle shaft w/
Beretta driv. side inner CV w/
Beretta inner CV bearing assembly w/
                New boot and FRESH GREASE!

For now, the stock beretta clutch and flywheel. I plan on getting the Fidanza flywheel w/ clutchmaster too. (Oh and I know that thing isn't gonna last very long)

Stock beretta GTU gearing, whatever that it is. You may find the 3.94 Torsen diff to be a little too high. A quad4 owner on j-body.org had your transmission in his cavalier. At 65 mph in 5th gear, the RPM's are about 3K! There was also discussion among V6 owners about this thing. Most people agreed that they wouldn't want that high of an FDR. That's up to you tho...

                  LOL at you FWD guys.
Cool to be hostin ya on my thread and props on the creativity to use diff. bits and pieces of different drivetrains for your product. Im with ben on a new page, so go start a new thread guys.

A lil update: Looks like im getting custom piston as well as sbc rods. I got a set of mahle 3100 pistons ($50) from ttypecamaro on the 3rdgen forums.

Still need to buy my rods, but at least my p,p&f.m. 3400 heads are here.

                    *Not off topic*

I've been looking into something like that as well^^

                    GM's 3900 pistons are 3.891 in. dia.
GM's LSI pistons are 3.9 in. dia.
both use an offset piston pin.

                    hint...hint...hint...

But seriously, I'd need to find out some more measurements, specifically the compression height of the pistons them selves. LS1 uses like a 6.1 inch rod or something, whereas my stock 3400 rods are 5.7 in., same as any standard smallblock. Basically, I could find a rod to make those pistons fit, with a custom wrist pin most likely. This site helps a lot, I must say!

Joseph talked about using LS1 pistons in his 3900 before. Search around.
