  • tbi injectors?

how do you tell the differance between 2.8 an 4.3 tbi fuel injectors?

  • #2
    Black/White is a 2.8

    Yellow/Blue is a 4.3

If you need pics of the two it'll have to wait till tomorrow as it dark out right now and the parts truck with a 4.3 in it is on the other side of 20 acres.

There is also a part number on the top. Rebuilt injectors may be lacking any identifying marks.

Just today, I did a 2.8 tbi to 5.7 (350) tbi swap in my ī89 blazer. I can definitely feel more power, but the 350 tbi is missing a vacuum hose and now im getting overfueled and running so rich its smokes. Im sorry as to just show up, but im new on the site and dont know how to post a new thread. I would like to know what to do to fix this. Here are a few pics...

In the photo(s) you can notice the 350s TB Unit has three vacuum lines vs the 2.8s four lines

You need to use your stock injectors. DON'T use the 5.7L injectors.

Betterthanyou, thank you for the quick reply, and the great guide, my truck is fixed, runs great, but now its idling high. All the vacuum lines (I think) are in their corresponding places, but it now idles at around 1200rpm. Im thinking that the 350īs IAC (which I didnt swap out) is causing this. Guidance?

Well first make sure the engine is hot otherwise it wont go into low idle. If it still wont idle properly and it did before you changed the throttle body then follow this guide.

If you choose to not un cap the idle set screw then just follow the TPS adjustment procedure at the bottom.

Now, for the fun stuff: Im saving up to tune this little workhorse, which for now is a budget build, and wanted suggestions. Here are my plans: I got two IHI RHF-4 turbos (small) for free from my college (im in the diesel program) and I want to turbo this engine. I plan to run e-85 and wanted to know how I can get it to work with the tbi system. Im planning to run conservative boost (5-8 psi) until I get a MPFI system going in the future.
