Last time he was on the site was 10/14. Since his last post in this thread (9/21), he has only posted 3 other times (10/12, 10/13 and 10/14) all in the same thread. Needless to say, doesn't seem like he's been too active in the process for awhile. Or perhaps he has something going and doesn't want to post until the product is ready...? Who knows...

its not a high priority or high demand application so it probably got thrown on the back burner.
they are prob going to concentrate on items that will make them alot of money.

I have already explained the situation. They will only be made when they are paid a deposit. This deposit will be given to them soon. They have everything ready to start work and churn out a prototype in about 7 weeks then once that proto works out, they will start with the base order. 100 sets.

Wrong thread bud, this thread was in regards to 95sleeperachieva and Harland Sharp rocker arms. Not the Scorpion rockers

              3400 vs. 3.9 rocker ratios

              Hi Andrew,
Have you tried using the 1.7 ratio rocker arms from the 3.9 LZ9? I am thinking of trying this on one of my 3400's. It appears they bolt up with no mods. I have tried it on one of my exhaust valves to check for fit and no problem. I have not yet done the rest of the engine as I am looking for more info on expected performance gains and any other related info. My thought is that this is easier and less costly than going the new cam rout. Please let me know your thoughts and research.

              Regards,
              Tim

              Subject: custom rockers

I have an unpopular motor that I would like to run a set of your rockers on. It is a Chevy 3400 from a 2004 Olds Alero. Would prefer full roller fulcrum and tip like your other rockers, 1.7 ratio, and capable of .650" of lift. I realize that this is or could be a a single run off job and completely custom. I couldn't guarantee you that more sets would sell but I do know several people that would also pitch in for a set of their own, possibly a group buy. We have been waiting patiently for someone to make them, scorpion rockers claimed to be building them, but its been 2 years of them claiming and we've seen nothing but empty promises. I find this hard to believe that they can't even pull up a single set. It's not that hard to make a product match to something already existing. If you need a stock set I can send you several of them for dimensions and pedestal design, i even have extra sets of heads I could give you. Best part is, I live in Parma, Ohio, so I'm local to you too.

Please give me an idea if this is feasible, roughly how much to make a set of 12, and how long the wait will be. I'm trying to get my build done for next spring and need to time everything. I would need your rockers to complete my piston design, JE needs 6-8 weeks to turn them out for me, and then Victory Engines to get it balanced, built, and tuned for april 2010.

              Thank you,

              Andrew Homolak

              And the Response:

              Andrew,

I would be interested in looking at this application. If you want to bring the heads and rocker assembly by the shop I will take a good look at it and get something going.

Small problem. I didn't expect him to respond so quickly. Anyone got a junk 3400/3500 head laying around and 1 rocker and pedestal? I was planing on giving him my stocker 3400 head and a rocker from that when i bought the 3500 heads or motor, in a few weeks. I know harland, I've dealt with harland before. I ran their rockers in my W-31. And when I had a mill blow all over I needed a new set, summit was out of stock, harland built me a set in 48hrs! And that was an Oldsmobile, unpopular! So this ain't no BS, Harland will turn out a set in weeks, it will be high quality, I'm geussing around $400, thats what the Olds sets cost when they first started making them.

So I need a junk 3400/3500 head, 1 rocker and pedestal, and a count of how many people want them and can afford them! No offense ment, But I ain't going before this man, telling him I got 30 sets sold, and then only 3 cough up cash. So, if you got $400+ and you want 'em, we'll start there.

well, tbh, life got in the way and I'm flat broke. I'm still working and managed to bill out tons of work but it's trickling back in, only reason i haven't followed up on this is because I'm NOT walking into HS empty handed. Sorry for the let down guys, It's keeping me from racing too.
sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

What is the general opinion on using those rockers from the 3.9 LZ9? I am very interested since I am running a turbo being the stock cam is great but would like more lift w/o the hassle of swapping cams. Has anyone tried this or have the parts to test?

A 1.7 ratio would be fantastic! Are they rollers or fulcrum? Either way I may try this out.

You said you tried just the exhaust, does it look like they will sit next to each other or should I say, are the widths the same?

I have the small port 3100 but plan to go a 3400 top swap soon. While doing that I would like to throw a set of those rockers in and see if the LIM clears or not. I could easily grind for clearance.

Spill the beans dude, lol. I want details.

They don't work. The pedestal is too short. The 3500 pedestal limits the rocker travel too much to work as well.

I know this overhaul is for a 3800 engine in a 4th Gen F-Body... but way down in the latter pages of this link is some information on 1:7 - 1:8 Aftermarket Full Roller Rockers from "Yella Terra" that looked intriguing... is there any chance these could be modded to work in the 3400-3500 engines? There is also a very comprehensive list of aftermarket companies with full contact data: addresses and phone numbers etc., that might come in handy when trying to run down sourcing possibilities for power improving parts...
