I am particular and there are only 2 3500 that have a diff rocker design that is not an OHC engine. I work at gm.....and i did the orig investment and the started the motion, so i have done my homework.

trust me the rocker manuf will not do anything above and beyond their means. period. i have found that out. money talks alot. they will only do what they are paid to do.

No one doubts that this would be a relatively small market and a break even project at best.

BUT the tease has been here for almost a friggen year!!

I have my $400+ set aside, 'cause that will likely be the final price tag, however it IS very frustrating!

I go see them this Thursday. I received bare heads, LIM and VC's from a charitable 60 deg member, purchased 1 new valve, spring, and retainer set, and borrowed a rocker from my Achieva.

I would like to discuss the clay and your results on the velocity testing of the test heads I received!

          Some interesting quirks there.

So I'm taking the hardware above with me, some of the listings for the more radical cams available for max values, and the specs on all the valve springs that may be used too. I'll post Thursday night on how it went.
sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

correct me if I'm wrong but can't you just big block chevy or small block chevy rocker with the 7/16" studs by just drilling and tapping the head for the 7/16" stud or is that just the iron head motors?

No. The only rocker that would possibly work would be SBC narrow body rockers.

It's the center bolt rocker covers used on the late 80's 350 TPI. They sure do look the same!

If you're talking drill and tap, then you'd have to go to a machine shop. I wouldn't trust my hand in getting things straight.

just tell them that things like this could very well help lead to the 60*v6 uprising, since the only reason people seem to think the l67's are so great is because of the gobs of aftermarket caused by stock supercharging...id say no less people have 3100's & 3400's than have those crappy boat anchors-& id people could deck them out & beat on sbc's without swapping engines i wouldnt be surprised if a lot more people stop the v8/l67 swap crap & just build their stock motors.

in an ideal world... hey a guy can dream cant he?

Yeah I diffinatley know it will machine shop work especially if I can remember right its not just drill out the 10mm hole to 7/16" hole but you have to drill it offset

Why do you need an offset at all? unless your changing pushrod angles it should be drill and tap? 10mm= .254 7/16=.4375.... Will there be enough material? The only thing i can think of is making sure your spindle axis is on the same axis of the hole being drilled?

No way, you won't fit a rocker arm that uses that size bolt. Splayed valves makes the rocker arm choices more difficult. Changing geometry isn't even feasible.

OK! So I'm an idiot, and I search Summit and punch in 2005 LX9 3500, and it kicks out Comp full roller rockers # 1602-12 with a 3/8" stud and 1.6 ratio.

Just what all is involved, and DON'T start flaming!

                              Just asking.
