  • 70-1207 - Pace Setter Painted Headers for 3100 v6

Does anyone else out there in the 60 degree land have experiences with :

70-1207 - Pace Setter headers. They're made to be a direct bolt on for w bodies sporting the 3100/3400 that are 97 and newer. I am very interested in purchasing/ installing them just I want to make sure that installing them wont cause me to fail my emissions testing.

Just trying to get abit more perfomance without loosing drivability.. would love to know it its a good buy or not and what everyones experiences have been like using them. thank you all.

they are a fairly new part. we do sell them at scoggin dickey...i do not remember if they are on our site or not. you can pm me for a price if you like. i know the pace setter exhausts and headers are designed to be emissions compliant unless they are a "race" style....and im pretty sure they would not make a race style header for the W body being that they are fairly new in the first place.

thanks for the imput it helps alot . They do have the o2 bungs to place the sensors in and will bolt on to a stock downpipe/cat but they said its for off road use only so thats why i was thrown off.. didnt wanna go to the trouble of putting it on only to have if fail lol ..anyhow hmm guess i will have to harass pace setters themselves get some faq about the product..

I know your choices for headers might be slim and none but from my past experiences with anything pacesetter has sold you're better off just taking a hammer and hitting yourself in the forehead now and save your money.

lol hit myself in the head n save my money that doesnt sound too promising hmmm guess i could always just go with a cat back system even though a full system would get better results.

Might be only few options but every pacesetter i've delt with has fit like shit and had flanges that were so thin they warped damn near on crank up.

I don't see where WOT-Tech now sells SS Headers?

But just to clarify, I too have SS headers and I love them, check them out.

i know ss makes 3400 headers but i believe only for j body like cavalier alero grand am..I dont it would fit without me toying with my passenger side torque mount. Apparently the model i listed is supposed to be a direct fit so it would/should clear where the torque mount is bolted into the engine block.. hmm only if there was someone who's tested and has experience...

did any of you guys running s & S headers have any emissions issues ?

I have S&S headers on my 3500 Beretta in Hamilton, Ontario, however I was able to have my car classified as a "Hot Rod" under the Drive Clean definitions, so they only check the gas cap. (It's BS baffles brains but it works.)

But the flanges are nice and thick and the quality, although mine have been highly modified as they are Alero headers, is excellant.

                            LOL!

hmm i dont know if i would be able to get away gettin my car classified as that over here in ottawa .. lol id hate to go to the trouble of modding it only to have to put back on a stock system for the sake of getting it to pass emissions
