you could run the 3500 with a harness and computer from a 3400 Grand Am if you want to stay OBD2.. you would need an external crankshaft trigger and a few other things to make it work.
Personally i'd use an old Cavalier harness and ECM, 100% tuneable and no added BS.

i dont want an external crank trigger and in 07 its the same motor no vvt " as ive been told" with a caviler harness and ecm is there an external trigger?? and id like to stay with a delphi ecm and would even be able to scan through the obd2 system... the 07 ecm is none to be even more tuneable then prior ecms.. but has anyone used one before... and what year caviler?

i run the external trigger system from TCE on my '04 3500 and the original 91 Cavalier harness / ECM with no problems. with a eprom emulator from Moates and Tunerpro RT (free) i have full access to anything in the ECM.
