when i'm done fabbing this exhaust up i'll pull my 3500 block off the stand and put it on the scale. I'm pretty sure it was less than 100 lbs. If i can find the caps i'll put them on too.

Ok, fine.. I guess i'm stronger than i thought. a 3500 block with no main caps is 115 lbs.
an aluminum head with no valves/springs is 13 lbs

Guess that's why they call you Super Dave huh ?
So 115 for the blocks and 32 for the heads and a couple of pounds for
bolts (=~160). That still sounds about 100 lbs short of what I was expecting for
a long block. So add in what 35 for the crank, and then rods and pistons, camshaft, water pump valve covers (not sure what else)
I was assuming about 280ish for an engine with alum heads based on the shipping weights and weights others have mentioned.

I did weigh a 3400 crank, it was 32 lbs.
