Short ram intake or fender well intake?

I have a K&N air filter in my stock box and took out the narrow tube that comes out the box but I used the round part to clamp a 3" un-used nylon RV waste tube and ran it out near the front in the fender. Pretty durable hose, worked like a charm! Got the tube, comes in 9 feet at Walmart for under $10 and comes in black and brown.
