  • 2 questions on my swap- crank sensor and exhaust

first where does the crank sensor for the 24x bolt to? i have a 3500, i though i read soemwhere it has a place for it? already have the 3400 dampener installed.

second, if i goto manifolds from say a 03 venture 3400, will it hurt the power of the engine any? i think i read they both use the D shaped large ports? it would make exhaust routing ALOT easyer then the 3500 manifold that i cant find flanges for.

figured out the crank sensor issue, it was the wrong sensor in the box i had, and thats why i was pulling my hair out to figure out how it would fit.

also if i use the 3400, will the crossover pipe get in the way of the shift linkage on a muncie 4speed?

No idea about the cross over, but they are about as compact as can be so I doubt it.

3400 manifolds are better than 3100 (rear has some short runners and the opening for the DP is larger)

3500 is of course best, or headers. Yes you will loose some power. No idea how much.

If you want the BEST 3400 manifolds go with I think it's 04+ impala/etc manifolds. They are still the same style, but inside they are much larger; the same size as the 3500 manifold ports.

thanks, thats exectly what info i needed. it will be alot easy to do my exhaust with those rather then the 3500's that both face down, and make it alot easyer to do my turbo setup down the road.

Nobody will ever find 3500 mani flanges becasue they are welded directly to the cats(dual cats).
Someone can amke them easily though. The front flange is different from the back too.
