Many, many people are running the 3.4/3400 hybrid with a stock tune

With a cam and headers, might get the SES light on, but that's what most are doing since it's not a tunable ECM

Is the 16149396 the 3100 ECU? Yeah you could do that actually. Still untuneable, but you'd have a 3100 tune which people run 3400 swaps all day long on with no issues.

2 un-tuneable PCM's, lol but would work pretty slick if you didn't plan on more radical mods.

EDIT: John, the 3100 tune would be much more suitable, and probably more power than the iron head tune. I'm sure the VE is way different on the iron heads. And extra timing on the aluminum heads has been shown by a few members to not gain anymore past a certain point.

Dyno said otherwise on Russell's car

He is using a stock 3.4 RWD PCM and is making 180rwhp/210rwtq with 10.5 AFR's.

Ok wow guys thanks for your support. And ForcedFirebird.....I have my eyes on you lol.....your a information powerhouse and also a fellow fbody owner LMAO haha in all seriousness though, so I can run the stock 3.4 pcm with the 3400 without any tuning or wiring harness changes. And I know I must change the pistons because of the compression issue and that they are a direct fit for the 3.4. I am actually going to rebuild this engine so I am glad that i have to do the piston swap. man this is going to be an awesome build!!! I cant wait till i get started with it. Im going to start the tear down this weekend and then start rebuilding piece by piece. Are there any other key factors that are going to come into play with this swap?

[QUOTE=robertisaar;390930]i could have swore someone was trying to tell me they had MAFs.... oh well, not important.

Your werent completely wrong robertisaar. The V8 equipped Fbodies (LT1, TPI) DO have MAF sensors its just the V6 models that dont.

I have a nice set of pistons with the rods still pressed on. Check to make sure the block hasn't been bored, can even throw in a set of stock sized rod bearings (new in package) for $75 plus shipping...

Robert the v6 f bodies from 1990-1995 all had MAP, MAF before 1990, MAP/MAF after 95.
