while i'm sure we all appreciate the hating ricer attitude: how are you 16, yet already have one vehicle totaled? that part alone scares me.

but how fast you want to go, how much you're willing to spend, and how much you know about cars are the three things that will determine the outcome.

i remember when i was 16 and thought the same thing about knowing everything... i've learned much since then.

lets assume you're right, and have all the tools and skills necessary, how much are you willing to spend?

im not saying i know everything but im not retarded either and i have plenty of people to help me if i got stuck and i have the tools and the space (my dad built a nice 3 stall garage and stocked full of tools) and the time for it all

id probably spend 2000-2500 on it

When I was 16, I already had 2 complete vehicle rebuilds under my belt. Did my first engine rebuild when I was 17.

i was wondering when you you chime in brad... you're one of the resident experts, what do you think 2 grand on a 95 se could do?

obviously once you get so far into the motor tuning is necessary, but brad knows what i have in mind(N/A anyway, boost would bring up other issues), i've bugged him enough about it.

i want to say either swap in a 3400, stick on 3500 heads/intake and boost it

                  or

rebuild the motor currently in the vehicle, 3400 heads, 3500 intake and boost it....

but i'm no expert in what works better. but either path should stay around/at 2000 if not less. i would say 14.? 1/4 miles should be easy if the tranny holds up

                    My thoughts...

3400 swap, headers and full exhaust replacement. I would do a cam and probably ported heads to match. Once you get to that point, you will be close to your current limit. A decent boosted setup isn't within your budget. But a cam'd 3400 with headers will be a very nice improvement over stock.

i kind of like the sound of the cam'd 3400 but i was wondering should i swap the obdII (im probably guessing so) if i go with this swap because i would kind of like to eventually do the obdII swap for doing boost down the road

and i am going to get the tranny rebuilt right away too (ive had to many problems with high mileage ones already and dont want to risk it)

if you know for sure that you are going to throw on a turbo later, do the obd2 swap while the motor is being swapped as well. if you know you're not going to throw on a turbo, then a obd1 swap isn't a bad idea...

                        just something to think about

                          i thought obd1 didnt use the 4t60e
but what cars could i use for the swap??

                            why does everyone think this???

91-93 w-bodies with a 3.4 had the 4t60e and were obd1. so are the 94-95 Ws with 3.4, but that PCM has been largely disregarded. if it were broken down as much as the 16149396 in the 91-93, then that would be the better option since you could keep SFI, and TCC PWM. i think those are the only advantages though. 94-95 is a MAF system though...

so would it be cheaper and easier to swap the obd1??
what would i need to do that swap??
cause i would kind of like a car with a manual tranny if i did a turbo
