Anyone ever put a 3400 together, then run it up to 2500 rpm and on the way back down, the whole motor jerks like it missed and you hear a metallic clank? I freaked out, pulled the oil pan, and all the rod and main caps, everything checked out. I'm suspecting the new toque converter. It runs perfect at idle.

A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free. -
Not that this post is of much help, but I have a very similar sound that comes out of my 3.4TDC in my 91 Lumina. I also suspect a torque converter or perhaps transmission.sigpic
