  • high flow fuel injectors? brands?

while I'm installing a ported and polished intake, I was hopeing to install a set of better flowing fuel injecters, but i don't know who makes any for 99 to 2003 grandam GT 3.4L! does any one know of any?

venom makes an awesom fuel injector, but they only show a listing for a 95 firebird with MIF. i dont think thease will work, but if any one know please let me know!!!!!!!!!

You must be looking at those new funky thin injecters GM is using now. I'm not 100% on the injecter controller but size wise, there the same as any Bosch style top feed injecter. I ditched those and am running MSD's high flow saturated type in a 38lbs/hr.

Unless you get an aftermarket controller, going up to larger injectors just has the ability to hinder your performance. The PCM is programmed for stock size injectors, so if you increase the size, it will still send the same signal to the injectors. This will cause too much fuel to be sent to the engine, which will be sensed by different sensors (mainly the O2 sensor), which will then tell the PCM to decrease the fuel constants. Depending on the size of the injectors you go to, it will either bring it back to where the PCM is happy or you will just constantly run rich while the PCM tries to limit the fuel delivery as much as possible. Just doesn't seem like a good way to go about things....

Agreed. Not a good idea. If you want just a tad more fuel to go with the mods increase the fuel pressure a bit.

I know about the size lbs per hr issue and all that, I'm looking toward the future I've got a ported and polished upper intake going on in a month or so, and was thinking of upgrading the injectors to a stock size but a better flowing type! i figuared why take if off agin to NOS it up, or super charge it in thee future! are there anygood stock sizes?

Ps: here are the mods to the motor

You still have no need to add bigger injectors. If you are running N2O then you will want to run a wet kit and in that case the jets will get fuel of the scrader valve. For boost you will need a proper reprogram which will run with stock injectors but will just open them for longer periods of time. You could run larger injectors with boost but for mild applications it is not necessary.

I think he wants better flowing injectors, ie a better spray pattern. But really, I don't think you would see any difference between stock, even on a dyno. Get a stock set balanced and blueprinted from Marren Motorsports or RC Engineering and I think you will be fine. And you'll save alot of $$.

You can get a good set of say 24lb/hr injecters and back off the fuel pressure to compensate the difference, an easy option. Or step up to a new fuel computer to control larger injecters, can get costly. But going with atleast a 24lb/hr will help down the road if you choose boost, this way you dont over work the injecters at 120% D/C's at WOT. Probably 85-90% after upping the pressure. Probably the best option in my opinion.....

Brands,..... MSD, RC Engineering, Bosch, umm, almost any, I havent herd of any bad brands. Multiple holes produce a wider cone pattern is all the difference over stock.

I am running Ford Motorsport 30lb injectors. They are also available in 24lb. They are pretty reasonable, about $220 for a set of 8 from Summit.

SFI and MPFI are not so different, there more of a firing sequence than anything else. They, the injecters your talking about will bolt into the newer style intake manifolds that were using those new style injecters. These are all top feed and have the same length and hole diameters. If your factory computer will run them, I dunno. It doesnt sound like many people here have changed from these new injecters yet so the question on if they will work is still up in the air. For $100 though, it wouldnt hurt to try and find out.
