  • Ported 3500 Top Swap or headers+exhaust

I'm thinking ahead towards next year spring/summer, and I was wondering what I should look into as far as a few mods.

I was originally thinking of the headers and custom exhaust, but now I'm thinking of doing 3500 top end (heads, but UIM/LIM, and 65 mm tb)

All I have now is a MPRacing CAI.

Where do you think I should head next with my 01 GA.

i'd do the 3500 top end first.. then headers and a good exhaust.

what he said ^^^ or do all them at once but if your goin to do the 3500 upper half why not do the full 3500 and buy crank trigger and headers and you'll sure to be happy. just think of the price of the 3500 upper half and gaskets and all and look at the price of full 3500 and you'll see what im talk bout as you can get lx5 tb adaptor from the store here and the tb from a jy.

Unless you can swap a motor yourself, the value goes right out the window. You still have to swap your fuel rail or deal with the returnless setup. Also some wiring to do.

3500 top end swap is going to be worth more than headers and exhaust. The complement each other nicely though when both are done.

Don't make the LX9 swap the end all be all that it isn't.

I have no plans to do a 3500 swap. Just the top end. If I ca get the heads/manifolds cheap, what does just the porting cost?

good time to install headers during top swap. not sure you really need them yet. if your going to tune anyway then why not a cam. besides these engines like a little back pressure

Cause that stuff costs money I don't have?

What are the small parts I'd need besides the heads/manifolds,TB
