  • sequential twin turbo or centrifugal supercharger?

sorry if this has already been covered, i've never used forums before.

My friend has an '88 supra that I'm putting a 2jz engine into for him. The engine came with the factory sequential turbo setup, but he wants bigger turbines, so is giving me the turbos he has to pay me for helping him. I've been thinking about building a 3.4L already. And now I'm thinking about building it with rear mounted sequential turbos. Its all going in my '91 firebird.
I'd like to hear other opinions. I'm used to building pontiac and chevy V8s, not 6s, but I love how this car handles better with the 60degree in it, and refuse to put a v8 in it now.
    -thanks

sequential turbos are a very complex system to tune, a properly sized turbo for your application will yield the best overall performance.

Drop the sequential and go either a big single / small dual setup.

i couldnt find this post after i made it.
thanks for the advice. i've been looking at some centrifugal superchargers too. they seem like an easier project. i've never worked with boost before, so im trying to be cautious. it seems like the superchargers i find are more expensive, and none are for my size engine, & i dont want a roots system. turbo seems cheaper, but harder to tune. and easier to break. i can barely afford this project these days, let alone for it to break. anyone have suggestions on specific models of either centrifugal blowers or turbos? im wanting this to be more daily driver than all out race
