theres already MLS head gaskets.... i haven't seen them on the store here recently but i know MP racing has them still. $240 a set. IIRC.

and BTW sweet! i'm going 3500 of course, but if i wanted to build another one later i'd hope there'd be some piston options for us guys this is all great work though, aweosme!

I wasn't aware MPRacing sold MLS head gaskets. They are no longer affordable for me to have made (who wants to pay 300+ for a set?)

I will have the pistons available as well as Scoggin Dickey once they are made.

                Pistons (3400)

I recently finished tearing the heads off of my '98 Chevy Venture because of a blown head gasket. Many hours of torture later, I looked into the engine bay and thought "Geeze I'm only about 2 hours away from having the pistons out. Wouldn't it be nice after all of this work, to give this thing a bump in compression to help better the fuel mileage?". I don't plan to do any other modifications other than more compression. This is a heavy vehicle with the aerodynamics of a garden shed so I'll likely go with 10:1 jugs to keep away from any detonation. The knock sensor would protect the engine from damage but if it's continually retarding ignition timing, that will defeat any MPG improvements that the higher compression may bring.

Gectek how soon will these Diamond pistons be available? How do I go about ordering them? I've had this stupid thing apart for 4 weeks now, doing the research trying to find the right combination of parts to accomplish what I want to do.

they can be done fairly soon, but first off, we need to make sure they get the right measurements. then i can get them made.

they are only available for the 3400 at the moment, but if i can get some 3100 info, then maybe i can get those made soon also, as well as the 3500 non VVT and then ultimately the 35/3900 VVT

I have some 3100 pistons taking up box space (I think)...if you want them... they are old factory POS's

I'll double check on monday to see if I still have the 3100 ones... I know i have an old set of 3400 ones up there so I may be confusing them.

I actually have a complete 1996 3100 on a stand... Want it? LOL you pay shipping hahaha

That $575 quote for (6) 3400 pistons from Diamond; does that include the piston pins as well?
