  • Higher compression head gaskets for 2.8

I've heard that using a 2.8 camaro headgasket will offer an increase in compression vs the headgasket for my ciera (aluminum). Is this true? Is the 2.8 camaro the correct gasket to get to safely bump up compression? I won't have to worry about piston into valve issues will I?

correct, the .040" gaskets for the Camaro iron heads when used on the 2.8 FWD Aluminum head will bump up the compression to 9.24:1.

Lots of people have done this with no problems.

Yes you need the iron head, head gaskets. You can get these from 1982-1988 Camaros w/ 2.8l V6
