3500s are newer, 2005+ I think. Not hard to find. $500 for a 30-40k mile engine from the salvage yards around here. Search for a 2005 Pontiac G6.

are the parts interchangeable from the 3.5? and superdave the compression height of any 2.8 piston isnt gonna work with the larger stroke of the 3.1

correct, the compression height of the 2.8 and 3.1 are different.. so if you are using a 3100 V6 with the 3.31" stroke crank you'll need to use 3.1 pistons form an iron headded engine.

the 3500 V6 parts will only fit on either a 3400 V6 (generation 3) and a 3.4 V6 (93-95 Camaro) due to the combustion chamber size.

I went with the whole 3500, it's 201 HP stock.. with a cam, headers and port work mine is pushing around 320 HP on regular pump gas.

well cool but if the 3.5 heads fit on a 3.4 wont they fit on all 3.4's? and cool makes sense on the cast headed piston.. i was trying to simply do a quick find on summit and no go.. ill reffrence them on a book.. with the heads i still have the problem of intakes till someone makes a intake for a carb and distributor for alum. heads im ******... but ari said they have plans to do so... but there rumor is there gonna make it so it'll only fit there heads.. dave thanks for the help

S&S headers makes a set for the GA that would fit the alum head engines. For the iron heads, Edelbrock used to make some, although I'm not sure the current availability of them. You can also do custom. Contact betterthanyou on the site for a set of flanges.

Might also want to look on ebay, as I know a few months ago, there was a custom intake to allow a carb on aluminum heads. Not sure if it ever sold or not...

RWD headers fit if you open the mounting holes a little (Camaro/Firebird, S10 etc). Not sure of the mounting configuration in the rail, but this may be a cheap/easy for you and give you a few choices.

I think it was a custom piece. I looked at the old thread where I originally saw it and tried going to the ebay item #, but it said it was invalid. Then I did a search on ebay, and nothing came up.

Here is what you should do...

i agree its nice but i limits me to much on my options... tire size plus weight and so forth.. ive seen the conversion done before... my rail has 16 inches of travel.. with the parts i have it'll run.. and run good but im looking to make it run to best i can and really pump some power through this motor its light weight compared to most with alot of options.. if i build it as low compression as i can i could just slap a turbo and go...

You can put a turbo on a stock 3x00 (9.x:1 CR) and get up to 8-10psi without any issues, if you use the aluminum top end. No reason to drop the CR just to add boost.

Did a quick search on the site, as I know we've had sand rail people on here before... Here is a nice example of a 3.4 iron head with a turbo : http://60degreev6.com/forum/f96/3-4-...ing-for-t37450

I agree. Loner's Corsica has 9.1:1 and screams with 12psi
