  • 3500 intake on 3400+nitrous

    i have 99 3400 and i am looking for a new intake will a 00+3400 or a 3500 be better ?
    i am spraying a 100-125 wet shot ?
and i may change the lower intake as well if i can find one at a good price.but all 3400 are rated at the same power so is it even worth changing it ?

3500 plenum ported makes some good power, don't know how the distribution on the nitrous spray will be since it has a neck that extends into the center of the plenum.

i know about the differences in the years in the intakes but do they make that big of a difference? because as far as i know the 96-99 and 00-05 are all rated @the same horsepower right?

Horsepower ratings are bull... Go by flow numbers, thats all that matters.

And I'm wondering how the nitrous distribution will be with a 3500 plenum as well since I'm gonna be doing that soon... Then again I can always go back to the 3400 one if I have to. If the neck dumps it in the middle it can't be any worse than the 3400 with no neck since the last two cylinders (5 and 6) would probably get the most amount of spra and 1 and 2 the least since they are so far away from the source. I also think the front most cylinders getting more juice wont be such a bad thing since they do experience a little less heat in comparison to 5 and 6... hence the oil squirters on the 3500 as a fix...

All else fails and I'm that worried I could put together a hot direct port system if I wanted to

Yes, direct port FTW Could tap and put them right in the box 3500 plenum above the ports.

TreeZ24 had a setup like that. 1/2" thick alum spacers with nitrous ports on them. sold them to someone....

1/2 thick spacers wont fit unless the US body hood adds engine clearance on the front right corner of the motor... With just the Phenolic spacers I was hitting my hood. I had to have those shaved down to clear.

Also direct port means I should get a better set of solenoids, then distribution blocks, lines, and 5 more nozzels, and jets... that gets expensive quick

You could go with 2 nozzles, one on the "front" of the plenum, one on the "back" in the center on the side.
