  • nitrous on a turbo 60*

what do i need to do to run nitrous on my turbo 3.1? its already chipped but i would like to run a 50 shot or something to make the car faster in 3rd and 4th gear. any help is appreciated , im going to be looking into a cheap n2o kit unless i find out its not a good idea. Thanks for any advice.

50 shot wet will help that iat definately. im jetting my system for 50lbs wet, but my engine is built... good benifits as long as you think your motor will handle it..

nitrous is fine as long as its tuned properly, start off as small as posible withthe shot size and work up to were u want to be.

i have a dual nozzle 100 shot on my turbo 3.1 but have yet to use it cause im afraid to lol

well im pretty confident it can handle a 50 shot. How do i go about tuning it? I need to retard the timing 3 degrees in the chip but this is going to affect the chip when i NOT using n2o correct?

dont forget a nitous shot adds more power then what its rated for when used with superchargers and turbos, mainly cause it cools off the incoming air so much.so unless ur ecm is adding fuel for the cooler more dense air its already going to lean out even with a wet shot.

thats why i was saying to start with the smallest shot possible, depending on the brand is typically 25 or 35 hp

theres a few ways to deal with the timing addon ignition box, some ecms can be modified to retard timing when nitrous is activated etc etc etc

Hmm well thanks for the advice. Looks like methanol would be a lot safer and easier to run to lower IATS. I like the fact of pulling fuel for methanol to tune rather than adding fuel and figuring out how to pull timing for nitrous.
