3500 intake reversible?

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me if the intake on a 3500 (malibu) is reversible? Can it be turned around so the engine can be used in an RWD configuration?

I have an 3.4 from a Camaro that I am using for a swap project but I think I will need more power. And there are some really good deals on 3500s.

Yes, you can rotate the intake 180 degrees for a RWD setup.

The only problem is that the fwd accessories get in the way. So the rwd timing cover, water pump, etc has to be used. It all works together though. You can even put the rwd set-up on gen3 blocks.

No I think the bolt pattern for the accessory mounts are wrong on the FWD cylinder heads.

The other problem that hasn't been brought up (I didn't fully read the initial post) is the starter location on the wrong side, and the 3500 not having enough meat to drill the other side to relocate it. My first response was based on using a 3500 top end on a stock RWD engine.
