    OK.......3500 heads....stock valves.......stock keepers and locks...LS6 springs.

I have dremelled out the copper shims and now have the list of all the seals that have been used.

    1991
    1992
    1994
    Cavi 2.2 seals

TEJohnson used Felpro Viton SS 72685's

and there is the Felpro Viton SS 70829

What is the best of all these?

    Thanks

I have used the 1991 2.2L exhaust seals with great success on 2 or 3 sets of heads.

you are using LS1 seats right?

Make sure you use the ls1 seats not just copper shims.

LSI seats have a ridge that centers the spring so that it dosen't move around and pull off the valve seal.

regular shims do not, they're just flat.

You would know if they were copper if they were easy to dremel out. Copper would cut like butter, however the LS1 shims are not copper but only a copper color.

The LS1 seats/shims look like the black part of the stock seats/seals, but gold color and shorter.

I used FelPro part number ss70816, you'll need two packs if you order them like this. I just asked for 1991 Cavi 2.2l seals. I've used them on a few sets of heads and the LS1 shims, no problems to report as of yet.

Experience. I won't even use 2.2 or 3.1 seals any more now that I have a solution that cannot slide off the guide once installed.
