      • small update. made my engine harness for the ecm. went to the junkyard and picked up a connector from an impala for a break point in the harness. i still have a few accessories and gauge sending units to wire but for the most part its done. i also got my catch can hoses ran and cut (did i mention how much AN fittings suck ass to assemble?). more updates soon.

            • the black thing in line is the blow off valve. never see them so i wanted to be different and get one. i went with ms due to its functions, ease, and ABUNDANT information, and i plan on going coil near plug with truck ls coils, code 59 cant do that. i plan on exceeding 20 psig.

                • Eh, -AN lines are a bit more work but they aren't that bad to put together. Definitely more expensive but they sure look nice and are a lot more durable.

But anyway, things are looking interesting, as always. Can't wait to see the final result at work.

                  • its been done on alot of engines, but i dont think anyone has done it on a gm v6. just gotta research and research. i know ZZP is developing a CNP setup for 3800's, but thats been in the works for years.. yeah AN lines and fittings are NOT cheap at all lol. everything ive done in AN, and its getting costly!

                    • CNP is nothing new. MSD has been doing it for a LONG time. I remember an article in a HotRod or GMHTP about it on a 455 pontiac in an old school car that a guy ran fuel injection on and all the latest gadgets. It had their coil near plug system on it. its a good idea. not sure how much of a perf gain there is. and if you are trying to liken the gains from the LS truck coils actually giving more HP than the standard coils, there is alot of smoke and mirrors in that. They can allow you to run a longer dwell i believe, but that is it. kinda adds more kinks to the puzzle.

                      • Coil near plug or coil on plug? I'd rather have coil on plug.

According to my GM fuel injection manual, CPP (coil per plug) "puts out very high ignition energy for plug firing. Because the ignition wires are shorter, less energy is lost to igniton wire resistance. Furthermore, no energy is lost to the resistance of a waste spark system." plus what you said about dwell time. There is also more cool down time for the coil so CPP would be a pretty good upgrade to consider.

                          • well the waste spark is reverse polarity and always less intense, so that is not a good arguement. the gm plug wires do test between 100-500 ohms, which is good, but i do not see them just being coil per plug to be the thing that makes them better. they kind of make a vague line there. it can help, but i do not see them as being huge. honestly they could be made using the stock system. it would take some wiring changes, but it could be done without a separate system.

                            • Again though, if you believe every word of propoganda, then you would go with the MSD 10 PLUS system that is made for boosted engines. At what point do you draw the line on spending money? Will it increase HP? There is no way to find out. Because alot of people run the dizzy on LS engines because the coil system confuses the old school guys, but then they use a carb intake and such, so its not a clear comparison. will it increase throttle response? hard to tell as well. there is no difinitive proof with the GM system that it will produce what you think it will or what they say.

                              • That maybe the case, but I'll take my chances with what the manufacturer of the system says in this case. It stands to reason that the waste spark system is still traversing through two spark plug wire lengths and for CPP to be only moderately better each ignition coil would have to be producing about half the voltage output as one coil in the waste spark system, otherwise if each coil in the CPP system is producing equal to or close to that of the waste spark system that equates to a considerably higher output per plug on top of reduced resistance, ~35k volts per plug as opposed to divided over two. The information is from the GM fuel injection diagnostic training manual, not exactly propaganda.
